a highly successful and memorable 2014 Trinidad and Tobago Carnival season,
Soca megastar Machel Montano will ignite
the ‘Big Apple’ on Memorial Weekend with
his dynamic presence for the 2nd installment of the aptly titled “Float”.
The
concert event touted as the ‘Ultimate Yacht Experience’ will take place on NYC's
Memorial Weekend, May 23rd, 24th and 25th onboard the luxurious, multi-level, Infinity
Yacht (The Largest Luxury boat on the US east coast) and will feature 3 separate
nights of rare, on the seas, full band performances by the 2014 International
Soca Monarch and his HD band
Presented
by promoters Jay Upscale Marketing and SOB’s Concert Cruises, the 2014 edition
of Float is
already causing high anticipation in the 5 boroughs of New York and much like
2013, is expected to attract audiences (Caribbean and Non-Caribbean alike) from
various parts of the North-American Diaspora. According to the organizers, the
goal is to again present Caribbean entertainment at its highest quality in a
classy atmosphere with a picturesque ocean backdrop.
Montano,
who is also T&T’s 2014 Road March Champion, has previously performed in
such high profile NYC establishments as Madison Square Garden and Radio City
Music Hall and will bring to Float his unique, vibrant performance style and his extensive
catalogue of Soca classics and current hits. These include ‘Ministry of Road’,
‘Happiest Man Alive’, ‘One More Time’, ‘The Fog’, ‘Bottle of Rum’ and the
event’s title track ‘Float’.
Joining
Machel for these massive Memorial
Weekend shows are his longtime HD band mates Patrice Roberts and Farmer Nappy as
well as Walshy Fire from the internationally renowned DJ Collective, Major Lazer.
