Demarco |
Earlier this week the ‘Fren Circle’ and ‘Lazy Body’ singer was the recipient of even more good news
following the announcement of this year’s nominees in the upcoming European Urban Music Awards. (UMA). Demarco
has been nominated in the ‘Best Reggae Act’ category
where he’ll vie against fellow heavyweights: Sean Paul, Mavado, Gyptian, Morgan
Heritage, Spragga Benz
and
British
sensation Stylo
G for
the coveted award.
A seemingly
jocund Demarco in a release to the media says, “It’s very gratifying to be recognized for your work and even more
humbling when an international organization such as EUMA gives you that stamp
of approval. It shows that you are doing something right. Lastly
I would like to extend a big thank you to the fans globally whom without none
of this would be possible.”
This nomination marks the first time Demarco
is being recognized for an award by any European entity. The 11th annual
staging of the prestigious award show will unfold on Friday, November 22, 2013 in London, England.
The 2013 UMA’s will be aimed at raising awareness for the Diamond Children’s Trust. A charity that helps children in deprived
countries by providing them with funding for education.
