Follow the overwhelming
success of the inaugural staging of her ‘Come Mek Wi Laugh’ comedy series which culminated on June 11th. Plans
are now afoot to take the show on the road. It’s understood an island-wide tour
will commence in the foreseeable future covering the length and breadth of the
island.
In a release to the
media a very jocund Lady
Rennae stated, “The season was a great one, the support was
overwhelming and I can’t thank the patrons and sponsors enough for their
unrelenting support. Since the first staging we’ve been receiving extensive
feedback from other parishes about bringing the show to their neck of the
woods. So we have listened and are about to make it a reality. ”
The series which ran
from March 26th to June 11th created history by becoming the first live comedic
offering to stage thirteen (13) consecutive episodes featuring fresh comedic
and musical talent at each. This achievement was due in part to the hard working
supporting cast at Fosters
Rental, Muss Buss Project, Puls8 Complex and Food Delights. Honourable mention must also be given to the very
skilful comedians who kept patrons in stitches with their spine tingling humour
namely: Donald
‘Iceman’ Anderson, Christopher ‘Johnny’ Daley, Bello, Blacka, Pretty Boy Floyd,
Leighton Smith, Dufton Shepherd,
veterans Prince
Edwards & Sample Man and actress turn comedian Suzette ‘Back Road’
Barrett who is also the
recipient of an Actor Boy Award among others.
Though tight-lipped
about the details surrounding the island-wide tour the broadcaster hinted that
the first stop may be St. Catherine.
