Meet Jamaica born Actor - Lyriq Bent

Actor, Lyriq Bent was born in Clarendon Jamaica and at age 6 he moved with his family to Toronto, Canada. He later attended Seneca College in North York, Ontario, where he graduated with honours and started as a Computer Graphic Technician.

That career was short lived as eventually took up acting soon after and has appeared in various movies and films.

Bent is better known, for his role in the Lifetime drama series Angela's Eyes, where he played Leo Jenkins. He has had guest role on the UPN series Kevin Hill with Taye Diggs and USA Network's Kojak alongside Ving Rhames.

 

He also had recurring roles on the CBS/Zoetrope series Platinum and the ESPN/Disney series Playmakers. He has since been featured in Columbia/TriStar's series Street Time as well as the Canadian series Blue Murder.

Bent's film credits include starring opposite Mark Wahlberg in the John Singleton film Four Brothers and Take the Lead with Antonio Banderas and Alfre Woodard. Bent also co-starred in the horror films Saw II and Saw III as Lieutenant Daniel Rigg, and starred as the central character in Saw IV. Also he has convincingly played a barber in director Bille Woodruff's 2003 dance saga Honey, opposite Jessica Alba and Mekhi Phifer.

In 2007, Bent continued his predilection for the horror genre with his portrayal of Doak Soloman in the James Isaac-directed werewolf saga Skinwalkers.

His latest movie “Home Again”, which is based on three Jamaicans who are deported from the U.S. Canada and England, must make their way in a land that they are not familiar with. The movies also featured Paul Campbell and Tatyana Ali
