The Children of the Caribbean
Foundation (COTC) is a charity that was founded in
2010 and has since attracted the attention of many notable figures including founding
board member Nia Long, Stacey
Dash, and Blair Underwood among others. COTC is
devoted to helping underserved children across the Caribbean reach their
potential for growth and success.
On December 1, COTC will
be having their second annual red carpet fundraiser "The 19th Annual Caribbean American
Heritage Awards” to honor three individuals
of Caribbean Descent. The event will be held at a private residence in Bel Air,
California
The event will be hosted by actress Victoria Rowell
(The
Young and the Restless) and Emmy Award
winning KTLA news anchor Chris
Schauble. Aquile from this current season of The Voice will be performing. Expected guests include
committee member and Twilight
producer Wyck Godfrey, Stacey Dash
(Clueless), Eric Close
(Nashville), Erika Jackson
(wife of Randy Jackson), and other LA notables.
The evening event will include Caribbean
cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, live entertainment, and a live and silent auction.
Proceeds will be donated to three causes: St. Jude’s Hospital in
St. Lucia, launching
AIDS/HIV education programs in the U.S.V.I,
and providing flush toilets and water supply to Hanover
Primary School on Jamaica. .
This year's auction items include a pass to the set of ABC's Revenge
followed by lunch with the cast and VIP tickets to the LA Premiere of Die Hard
5.
