Carice Glasgow of St Vincent & the Grenadines was
the first runner-up and also won the best swim wear award. While Davia
Chambers of Trinidad and Tobago won second runner-up and also captured the
award for the Best Interview.
The Miss Carival Pageant which is in its 27th
year is aimed at fostering greater bonds between the Caribbean islands and is a
showcase of the Caribbean’s culture as well as the beauty and diversity of
Caribbean women
Other sectional awards went to Olufunmike Devonish
of Anguilla for Most Community Spirit; Miss Congeniality went to Astrid Martinez
of Venezuela and Miss Photogenic to Charlene Christmas of Barbados. St Kitts and Nevis's Kalia Huggins received the
Best Evening Wear award
Ten countries participated in this year’s pageant
which includes Anguilla, Barbados, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St.
Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago
and Venezuela.
