Abbygaye became the third female to win the
competition since it started in 1966, following the footstep of Heather
"Brown Sugar Grant" and Cheryl "Chetenge" Clarke. As the
winner Abbygaye received a cheque for $500,000 and a Nissan Versa car.
Former Rising Star finalist, Tashina McKenzie won second place and was also awarded Best Performer of the night with her song "Jamaica Best Dem Bad". She also receives the Facebook Voters choice award.
Oneil "Nazzleman" Scott was third place winner with "Still Going Strong" and he recipient of $160,000.
The other remaining finalists each receive a Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC) plaque, and they were:
