Exclusive Premiere Screening of RasTa: A Soul’s Journey at Rootical Vibrations VI

Caribbean Creativity presents, in collaboration with Each One Teach One, the 6th edition of Rootical Vibrations in Het Ketelhuis on Friday July 13. The event will feature the exclusive Dutch premiere screening of the celebrated documentary

RASTA: A SOUL’S JOURNEY (including a live Skype Q&A with lead Donisha Prendergast and director Stuart Samuels afterwards) followed by a Roots Reggae Afterparty with DJs and a live act by Chasoul.

RASTA: A SOUL’S JOURNEY tells the story of the journey of Rita and Bob Marley's granddaughter's, Donisha Prendergast, to eight (8) countries — United States, United Kingdom, South Africa, India, Israel, Canada and Jamaica — to explore the roots, evolution and impact of Rastafari. Her journey takes her to places where her grandfather's captivating performances and his message are still fondly remembered.


The documentary boasts an uplifting and inspiring reggae soundtrack that features established as well as emerging contemporary, reggae stars such as Humble, Matisyahu and Damian Marley.

The screening of RASTA: A SOUL’S JOURNEY will be followed by a live Skype Q&A with Donisha Prendergast and director Stuart Samuels. Afterwards, around 23.30pm, the night will continue with a Roots Reggae afterparty with DJs and a live act by Chasoul.

The sixth edition of Rootical Vibrations is entitled Rasta Legacies and will be held in celebration of Bob Marley's musical and spiritual heritage and in commemoration of Haile Selassie's 120th birthday (July 13, 1892).
