Colombian singer Shakira makes huge investment in Bahamas tourism

Colombian singer Shakira has teamed up with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters and purchased 700 acre Island in Bahamas, reportedly worth US  $16 million.


The island will boast luxury holiday  resorts that will cater  to millionaire vacationers to the island. The resorts will also include private beaches and a number of hotels with plans to sell prime seaside property on the island.


The actual location of the resorts will be at Bonds Cay, north of the Bahamas, and is about 125 miles off the east coast of Florida. It boasts three salt pond lakes, three bays and five major beaches, including a private cove beach on the island’s northern shore.


 “It’s a beautiful island. It’s got some height to it, which means as you build up, you get better views. There is the ocean to the east of it so you’ve got reefs and views of turquoise water. On the other side of the island is limey, light turquoise water because it is shallow. It’s a great fishing area.”  reports John Christie, vice president of Caribbean real estate brokerage H.G
