Miss Virgin Islands 2011, is Camila Daniels

The new Miss Virgin Islands 2011 is  18 year old Camila Daniels, who won the title on Saturday night, July 23 at the Reichhold Center for the Arts.  Camila a Barnard College student will now represent her state in the upcoming Miss America 2012 pageant, which will be on January,14, 2012, at the Planet Hollywood Theatre , in Las vegas.


Camila also won the talent section, where she the delighted the crowd with her flute rendition of the "Flight of the Bumblebee." .  Her pageant platform is “Keep Music Alive in Public Education"

First runner-up went Taiesa Lashley , who also won the interview, physical fitness award and won $4,000 in scholarships. While Jamie Gaston was second runner up and won the evening gown competition., and received $1,500 in scholarships.  Yaira Bermudez  also got $1,500 in scholarships.
