With the internationally renowned Jamaican Dancehall artist's album "Imperial Blaze" days away from dropping, Sean Paul is focused and ready to deliver.

Desi Hits! was the only South Asian media on site to get the buzz on Sean Paul's new album which is set to be released on August 18th. We want to treat our fans to a rundown of his next big move.

Sean Paul describes the new album's title as a description of the fire that's inside of him, "it's suggesting where the energy comes from, suggesting a King of fire," he said.

During an interview with the Desi Hits! Crew, Sean Paul expressed his interest in touring in India. According to the artist, this has been something he has wanted to do for some time now but has been delayed due to other pressing business. Now he thinks the time has come.

During the interview Sean Paul spoke about some influences Indian music has on Dancehall music in Jamaica. "Some sounds in our beats definitely has the Indian sound, some of the sounds of the water drums, I can remember those sounds in the early 90's ruling for quite a number of summers which I worked with that just sounded warm and it flowed," he said.

Sean Paul reminisced about Apache Scratchy, an Indian artist living in London that visited Jamaica often when the artist was younger and has influenced his knowledge on Indian music. The reggae singer mentioned having experiences with Indian culture at home in Jamaica through spices and food which he loved and are infused into the Caribbean culture. He was very humble and laid back and even introduced us to those close to him, like his brother Jason Henriques, who has produced some of his songs as well as his manager, Jeremy Harding.

Sean Paul spoke about what came to mind when some people think of Dancehall music--which, in a lot of cases, means gangster lyrics and artists, something he does not want to be a part of. Though he has friends that do this type of music and are decent people, he prefers to work with bouncy, groovy tunes, a sound that has taken him 3 years to sift through and select from.

Sean Paul first entered the entertainment scene with the hit track "Gimme the Light," and he is now bringing us a unique and cool vibe with the new hit "So Fine." It's time to start adjusting to the right "temperature" for the artist since Sean Paul is coming in hot with "Imperial Blaze."
