Grammy Award nominated French record producer, house music DJ, remixer and owner of the label Yellow Productions, Bob Sinclar recently released the album Born in 69.
The album which is currently available in Europe, will see its stateside release later this year. It is the follow up to Sinclar's 2007 effort Soundz of Freedom.
Soundz of Freedome contained the hit singles World Hold On, Rock This Party, Love Generation and What I Want.
Among the collaborators on that release were Trinidadian artiste Fireball, former Wailers frontman Gary 'Nesta' Pine and deejay Dollarman.
Sinclar has once again culled Jamaican and Caribbean vocalists for his current project. Born in 69 features guest appearances from Shabba Ranks, Tony Rebel, Queen Ifrica and St Vincent and the Grenadines native, Kevin Lyttle. Other featured acts include Steve Edwards, Adam Joseph, DJ Roland Clarke and the Sugar Hill Gang.
Industry heavyweight Rodney Hill was given the task of selecting the Jamaican acts for Sinclar’s project. Hill who is the tour manager and A&R, is also the CEO of management company RHH Music Corp, which also manages Cezar, Andrew Mac, Ellyess, Supah Shane and Keishera.
Hill is also owner of the Triple 7 Entertainment PR firm which handles PR for the aforementioned acts.
The first single from Sinclar’s album is The La La Song which features the Sugar Hill Gang. The track is already heating up dancefloors in Europe, where the track has so far hit the Top ten on mainstream pop charts in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium and New Zealand.
The second single (of which a music video was released on July 20) Love You No More, features dancehall music veteran Shabba Ranks. Interestingly, while his voice is heard on the track, Shabba is not featured in the video.
A video for the track New New New featuring Queen Ifrica, Makedah and Vybrate, was recently shot on location in Paris.
Tony Rebel is featured on the track Jamaica Avenue, while Kevin Lyttle's vocals boom over the track Belly Dancer.
