Months after issuing a 'dare' to the Reggae / Dancehall community to raise money for the Bustamante Hospital for Children in Jamaica, Niyah of MYC Entertainment in Toronto, Canada has accepted the challenge.

On Friday March 13th, 2009, the MYC Entertainment team, in association with Turn Around Entertainment will stage the first of their series of fundraisers in benefit of the Bustamante Hospital. Based on a theme of 'Statement', Niyah dubs the event 'Dancehall Cares' as that is the audience who will be attending the event. "We all have to do our part for the hospital, and that includes Dancehall," says Niyah.

The first event in this fundraising series features hosts JLogix (producer of the Annual Dancehall event called History), and Nikki Hype who is one of Toronto's premium female personalities. The special guest appearance for the evening will be hot gyal Tifa who welcomed the invitation to be a part of this important event. "I'm really excited to be a part of this fundraiser, the kids are important to me and to the Dancehall community. In addition to Tifa, lyrical sensation Aidonia was to be included as a special guest, but had to postpone due to a European tour. Party goers in attendance will be musically entertained by Nitro Da CD Sound, Journey Sound, Fire Kid Steenie and Bigga Boss who will also perform 2 of his Dancehall anthems, which have become local hits in Toronto and over the internet.

Taking place at the Jamaican Canadian Association, located at 995 Arrow Road, members and staff at the association have been instrumental in making sure the event has all the resources it needs to be a success. The association will also be the backdrop for the cheque presentation to Jamaican officials in Toronto who will relay the donation to the hospital.
