Yaad Trendz a Hot brand

The saying,'hard work is the key to success' speaks volumes when you consider the efforts of fast-rising clothing designer, Stacia Davidson.

Davidson's brand, Yaad Trendz, has become a favourite in the fashion industry.

"Well it's hard but fulfilling, cause the foundation stages are always the hardest part to set. But at the end of the day when you see the fruits of your labour you can smile," Davidson told The STAR.

Just months after the launch of the clothing brand, which caters mainly to the 'hot, trendy, young, and hype' market, Yaad Trendz has been nominated for 'favourite clothing brand' at the annual Youth View Awards set for next month.

It's an honour Davidson welcomes with open arms.

"It shows that even though the launch was a few months ago it means that we have already made an impact with the market, which is the young and young at heart fashionistas," said Davidson, a graduate of Campion College and St Hughs.

Despite the challenges, which come with every dream, an insatiable appetite for success drives ingenuity.


Vision

"Yaad Trendz will go farther than my eyes can see... and my vision is extremely far. We are definitely going to grace the international stage in places like Paris, Milan, the States and of course the Caribbean," Davidson said.

Davidson, who studied Political Science at the University of the West Indies, describes herself as strong and says she gets inspiration from anything that grabs her interest.

"I am a happy person, very positive. I am a dreamer and it is very hard for somebody to stop me when I put my mind to something. I get inspiration from papers, magazines, fabrics - anything can be an inspiration, even a feeling," Davidson said.

For now, Davidson is using networks such as Myspace, Facebook, and Hi5 to market her products and says her material has improved gradually since the launch at Heather's , in New Kingston last summer.

"Our visibility has definitely improved since the launch. We have been on last month's Kumba Mi Yabba show and we had a booth there. We got sales and a lot of interested buyers, personal and boutique," she said.

So is there anything out there to stop Davidson and her clothing line, which has seen dancehall's T.O.K. and Baby Tash sporting her designs?


Push me forward

"That is like, impossible. It's not about if it is going to happen, but when it will happen. They say eight is the number for new beginnings and that was what it was. I had my launch, my website is up, and I have in a couple of months two stores who will join me in partnership.

"Of course you have the people who think that you should be doing something else, like the 9-5. Then you have the ones who believe in me, I use both the negative and the positive to help push me forward. The good about it is that when you make it, everybody will jump on the bandwagon," she said.
