INNOCENT KRU GOES - Group's sitcom premieres on February 2

The once popular Innocent Kru will be coming to prime time television with the premiere of their sitcom 'Me and Mi Kru', on CVM TV, on February 2.
The once four-man group, which rose to popularity with songs such as Impossible Train and If I Could Rule this World, has been missing from the limelight and is hoping to return with the comedy/drama Me and Mi Kru.
Losing Clumsy Daps
The sitcom will feature the three remaining members of the crew, Macka Head, Copper Kid and Benzly-Hype, as just before shooting the sitcom the crew lost one of its members, Clumsy Daps.
Born Courtney Morris, Daps died as a result of stab wounds he received during an altercation at his home in Seaview Gardens.
Actor Everaldo Creary will play the part of the deceased Clumsy Daps. While the 'Kru' is going through a hard time dealing with Daps' death, they are all eager to get the sitcom on air.
When the STAR spoke to Helmsley 'Benzly-Hype' Morris, he explained that the shooting of the sitcom began over a week ago and thus far has been filmed in Rose Town and Cherry Gardens.
"It's basically about our journey through the music industry. Most of the stuff that happens is what took place in our career, except that we invented me winning the lottery as a way for us to move to the uptown. So I win the lottery and move uptown with my mother, played by Audrey Reid. It's like a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air meets Beverly Hillbillies," said Benzly-Hype
Me and Mi Kru is directed by famed Jamaican director Rick Elwood, of Dancehall Queen and One Love fame. Along with the remaining crew members, the cast will also feature Audrey Reid, Leonie Forbes, Ronald Goshop, Professor Nuts, Candace Buchanan and a host of entertainment personalities who have influenced the career of Innocent Kru, including producers Sly Dunbar, Steelie and Cleevie and deejay Spragga Benz.
Benzly's brainchild
The sitcom was the brainchild of Benzly-Hype and was co-written by himself and Paul Beale. According to Benzly-Hype, the idea came to him when Innocent Kru was on the set of One Love. after speaking with Elwood, he put together a pilot which was filmed in 2004.
Now that the sitcom will soon be on air, Benzly-Hype said: "I'm so excited. The Innocent Kru is the original crew, the first group to go on BET, been doing this a long time and we're still together doing music with singles like Kick Dem Out."
The sitcom will also feature a number of other entertainers who will be making guest appearances.

I have been watching Me & Mi crew (missed a few episodes because flow cut off my cable & the local stations weren't picking up so well) and I find it to be quite an interesting, entertaining sitcom. The only problem I find is that it ends to quickly...but then it's a sitcom...thats the idea. I would give it so far a....7 out of 10.
