Former Turks & Caicos First Lady, LisaRaye McCoy-Misick is speaking out about her marriage to Premier Michael Misick ahead of her date with the islands` commission of inquiry.
McCoy-Misick, who is estranged from her husband, granted an exclusive interview to ESSENCE.COM, while admitting that she has been summoned to the British corruption inquiry on her husband.
The LA resident said she has to `clear her name,` since a lot has been disclosed at the hearing regarding money transferred to a company set up in her name. But she declined to say whether she feels her estranged husband is guilty of accusations of corruption, insisting that is not for her to decide.
Raye-Misick also told Essence.com that she feels she `gave up too much of myself and compromised a bit too much` in her post as first lady.
Meanwhile, she addressed personal feelings of heartache, admitting that the break-up hurt but said while she is disappointed, `this too shall pass.`
She also disclosed that she has to remain married to Misick for three years before beginning any kind of divorce proceedings due to the laws of the islands.
The Hollywood actress declined to, however, reveal the details of the break-up, but said, `things that happen within a marriage which can disrespect the union and actions can be taken against those things.`
And she said she is speaking out now because she wants `to let my people who care about me know what’s going on.`
