The Church of St. Monica’s on
Providenciales will play host to this glorious event, whereby its parishioners’
and guests alike will enjoy the melodious voice of opera singer Jiljane Brace and Organist Professor Samuel Springer.
For this eagerly anticipated
recital, Jiljane will perform selections from Schubert including An Die Musik, Auf dem Wasser zu Singen and Du bist die Ruh. For his part, Professor Springer will play selections by Bach, Ives, and Gershwin
among others for Turks and Caicos audiences.
The Church of St. Monica is
truly excited to have Jiljane
Brace and Samuel Springer perform at this recital, which is part of its 25th Anniversary
celebrations. In an age where dance hall, reggae and pop acts dominate with
sell-out concerts and devoted fan bases, through this recital - these
accomplished classical performers will give the Turks and Caicos a taste of
what is enjoyed on a nightly basis in New York, London and Paris.
A Night
of Classical Music will take place on Monday, April 28th 2014
at the Church of St. Monica’s, Leeward Highway, Providenciales. Light hors
d'oeuvres will be served at a reception on the patio at 7:00pm, with the
recital commencing promptly at 7:30pm. Preferred seating $50.00 {limited} and
general seating is $25.00. The recital is sure to be a wonderful experience to
be had by all in attendance.

ABOUT THE
PERFORMERS:
Jiljane Brace trained
as a classical singer in London. Before this she toured many countries with her
University as a soloist and leader.
Bringing up her family took
priority for some years so she has sung purely at friend’s weddings and
small concerts for enjoyment. She has always loved singing. Her
first solo was when she was 5 years old!
Recently Jiljane, who attends St. Monica's Church, teamed up with Andrea Stringos in Providenciales to
"make music together". Andrea trained as a classical pianist in Miami and is enjoying
accompanying Jiljane in a wide
variety of songs, liede and arias.
Dr Samuel Springer, DMA
- an active recitalist, accompanist and church musician. As a performer, Samuel
has played concerts in England, the U.S. and the Caribbean. He has performing
large-scale choral accompaniments in works such as the Duruflé Requiem and Vierne’s Messe
Solennelle with many choirs and choral groups. Samuel was been a
clinician at American Guild of Organists workshops. He has also written articles
for journals such as Choir and Organ.
Dr. Samuel Springer who
is the Director of Music at Concord-St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in
Bethesda, Maryland; is also on the faculties of Music at the Morgan State University and the Peabody
Preparatory where he teaches organ, piano and graduate music classes. What is
more, he has also served as music director for the Morgan State University
Opera Workshop and accompanist for the Morgan State Choir.
