REMBUNCTION! has released a powerful new single entitled ‘WE ARE,’ a song that pays homage to the positive achievements that have come from his homeland, Trinidad and Tobago, as the country approaches its milestone 50 years as an independent nation.

REMBUNCTION! has been on the music scene in Trinidad & Tobago for over 20 years in various capacities. He is a contemporary calypso artiste who blends the sounds of traditional calypso with new groovy ‘soca’ beats. He is well known for his soca-parang hits which include ‘ Mr. Santa Claus’, ‘Samantha Claus’ and most recently ‘Macafouchette'. His songs reflect the diverse cultural influences of his country as is evidenced from his discography. Songs include hit tunes such as ‘Roti and Kuchela’ which embraces enticing chutney rhythms and ‘Rain Fire’ with pulsating drum beats that pay tribute to one of Trinbago's long established oratory traditions, that of the Midnight Robber. This love for the Trinbagonian culture was also highlighted in his songs dedicated to the steel-band, Invaders, called ‘Doh Be on Dat’ and his album entitled The Return of the Calypso Man, which featured hits such as ‘Supernatural Session’, ‘Dance Calypso’ and ‘Sway.’

REMBUNCTION! was inspired to write the song ‘We Are’ in celebration of all the positive achievements that have come from Trinidad and Tobago. He believes that ‘the nation has continued to thrive despite its challenges and that our people should continue to remember the national heroes who have paved the way for this generation to succeed so that we can move forward and grow even more as a nation’.

Indeed, the video for the song reflects this sentiment and features many national icons who have blazed a trail for Trinbagonians throughout the diaspora. This song inspires nostalgia and an irreplaceable a sense of national pride, which leaves one asking, ‘what can we expect next from this talented musician?’
