Miss Jamaica Global 2012 is Clare Groves

The Miss Jamaica Global 2012 was  held on May 5th at the Montego Bay Convention Centre where 17 year old Clare Groves walked away with the coveted title. Clare will represent Jamaica, the host country at the Miss Global International Pageant that will take place on September 22nd at the Montego Bay Convention Centre in Rose Hall Montego Bay, where over 50 other countries will compete for the crown.



First runners up went to Twenty-year-old Latoya Bulgin while 21-year-old Maricet Levya won second runner-up. Other contestants making the top six were Latoya Patrick, Roshelle McKinley and Tanisha Summerbell.

For the sectional awards, first runner-up Latoya Bulgin was awarded Most Aware, Candace Kerr Most Congenial, and the night’s winner Clare Groves won for Best Stage Presentation.

The Talent Show segment took place on May 4th at Hotel RIU, where all 21 beauties displayed their talents. Kristeina Beckford, won Best Talent  with a Whitney Houston rendition.

The show was well produced by Mr. Weston Haughton and the girls were chaperoned and groomed by Mrs. Shawn Tulloch-Phillipps. The judges for the event were: Mr. Lloyd B. Smith ( Deputy Speaker of the house, M.P. & CEO of the Western Mirror) Ms. Tamara Pinnock ( Miss Jamaica Cornwall 2001) Mr. Arnold Nugent ( Hotel Manager at Sandals Royal Caribbean) Mr. Brian Brown ( Entertainer & Writer)  and Ms. Staysie Spence ( Celebrity makeup artist)

Among the attendees for the talent and Coronations shows were Custos Ewen Corrodus, Mayor Glendon Harris, Judge Winsome Henry, Judge Natalie Hart - Hines, Mr. & Mrs. Donald Colamanthi , Mr. & Mrs. Joe Hylton, Mr. Robert Russell, Mr. Sam James, Mr. Ken Tomlinson, Mrs. Quetlas ( Wife of Hotel Manager RIU Montego Bay) Mr. Pat Mcgann ( Beachcomber)  and H.E. Mohinder Grover ( Indian High Commissioner).
