Chantal was placed third when she entered the competition last year who amongst the crowd’s favourite, and proved herself worthy of this coveted title from a field of 16 beauties. She will represent Jamaica at the Miss Universe Pageant which will be held in South African this year.
First runners up went to Racquel
Jones and second runners was Sherece Cowan, who also won the award
for People Choice Rounding up to the top five were Amanda
Mitchell and Danisha Scott.
Other sectional prize winners were Sonya Stewart for Most Congenial, Allyson Gayle grabbed Most Aware and Chantal Zaky received the Best Body award.
This year 11 contestants were chosen
for the semi finals, as there was a tie, based on the prejudging, which came as
a surprise to the audience.
The Judges for the night were
Deiwight Peters from Saints International, Novia McDonald-Whyte, Kenya
Linton-George and State Minister in the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment,
Damion Crawford.
.Hosts Kerie Ann 'Kiki' Lewis and
Andrew Lawrence introduced the surprised guest of the night the reigning Miss
Universe, Leila Lopes, who was looking radiant in her blazing red,Grecian inspired gown
Miss Universe Jamaica 2011, Shakira Martin, made her final walk before handing over the crown her successor.
