Talk Show Host - Wilmot 'Motty' Perkins is dead

Talk show host Wilmot 'Motty' Perkins died early this morning at his home in St. Andrew home after a brief period of illness, he was 80 years old.
 
Perkins was born and raised in the  Portland and  attended the famous all- boy school Calabar High School in Kingston,

Perkins started his career in the 1960's working as a Journalist at the Jamaica Gleaner and later  his radio career hosting What’s your Grouse on RJR.

In the 1970's he hosted  the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation’s (JBC’s) popular call-in programme Public Eye., the Hot Line on RJR and then Straight Talk on KLAS FM 89.  On April 2002, he started hosting Perkins On Line on Power 106, which many called  "The Poor Man's University."


Perkins is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elaine, and grandsons Jamie and Eden.
