Miss British Virgin Island 2011, Abigail Hyndman

The Miss British Virgin Island 2011 competition was  held on Sunday, July 31 the Multi Purpose Sports Complex, where 21 year old Abigail Hyndman, walked away with the crown to represent  her country  at the Miss Universe Pageant in 2012

Abigail, a Biology/Pre-Med student of  Xavier University of Louisiana, also won for  Miss Poise. The first runner up went to Ciara Christian and second runner up went to  Shanett Browne., who also won for Miss Intellect and Cultural Costume.

Other sectional winners were Washeema Guishard, winning Miss Congeniality, Miss Photogenic, Best BVI Promo and Talent , Best Swimwear and Best Evening Wear , who was surpringly not placed in the top three. Washeema was also voted as the winner of the LIME Miss Popularity contest , while 21 year old Ciara Christian, was our online poll winner.

In the  event which was themed, 'A Royal Affair', the ladies were judged on their introduction, swimwear, cultural costume, talent/BVI promotion, evening wear, question and answer on the night of the pageant and also an interview conducted before the pageant.For winning the title the new Miss BVI takes home a trophy, $10,000 cash prize, academic scholarship from the BVI Government, a one year gym membership, Miss British Virgin Island official wardrobe, handbag, jewelry, a trip with the BVI Tourist Board and other gifts as donated.
