Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival cooks up a storm in New York

New York will come abuzz , with Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival to place on Sunday, July 24, from 12PM - 8PM at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens.  Patrons attending the event will have a chance to sample some of the culinary treats by local chefs

Chefs will be competing for a chance to win US$500 in cash and the prestigious Dutch Pot trophy, and bragging rights in the Jerk Cook Off.  Second place winner and third place winners will be awarded US$250 and US$100 respectively.

Participants will be judged on appearance, neatness of work area, taste, texture and tenderness of their food, and the “want more factor.”

The festival organized  Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival in Florida, Jamaican Jerk Festival USA, Inc. has partnered with VP Records to stage this exciting family-friendly festival in New York, which will showcase a number of artistic and literary performances celebrating Jamaica's folk traditions and will feature the Brawta Folk Singers. Freddie McGregor , Agent Sasco and Ity and Fancy Cat take the main stage, to perform.

Other activities includes ,A Kidz Fun Zone will feature several rides, bounce house and other activities to keep the young ones busy. A video arcade will also be available to appeal to teens and a special children's menu will be available, offering jerk burgers, hot dogs as well as treats such as ice cream, cotton candy and other goodies.

There will also be a Domino competition  squaring off for a chance  to win cash prizes and a chance to "drop a six love" and walk away Jerk Domino Champion of New York.
