Kinia Blyden crowned Miss St. John Festival Queen 2011-2012

Last Saturday night, at Winston Wells Ballpark a new Miss  St. John Festival Queen 2011-2012, was crowned 17 year old Kinia Blyden.

Kinia a recent graduate of  Charlotte Amalie High School, also walked away with the titles of  Best International Wear, Best Talent and Best Evening Wear.  First runner-up went to, 17 year old Niesha Paul, 17., who also won the title of Best Intellect, Charise Dowell, won Miss Photogenic and Miss Cooperative. Akela Frett, was named Miss Congeniality.

After her win, Blyden said "It is truly an honor to stand here today as your Festival Queen for 2011. This is the time of year that our culture is most prominent. Eat, drink and be merry, but do so responsibly."

Kinia plans on studying computer engineering at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida, this fall.
