"For this contest we were searching for gowns that play into how American's marry," said Brides editor in chief Millie Martini Bratten.
Born and raised in Jamaica ,attended Immaculate Conception High School in Kingston, currently resides in Florida, Nandi took her inspiration from Botticelli's Birth of Venus, which pictures the goddess of love, Aphrodite, emerging from the sea. "I just love the way the goddess stands over the sea and I think on your wedding day you should feel like a goddess," said Fernandez who won US$10,000 and her design will be on the cover of the new issue of Bride's Magazine.

Nandi's design was very ordinary and simular to the last 2 years winners. I thought Emily Ericson's dress had a romantic feel to it at the same time flirty and fun.
Girl you are crazy. Nandi's dress was by far the best. No competition.
