Jamaican Designer Nandi Chin Fernandez wins BRIDES Operation Dream Dress Competition

This morning on Good Morning America (GMA) , a winner was chosen for BRIDES magazine's third annual Operation Dream Dress Contest. Five finalist showed their work on the show, but in the end Jamaican designer Nandi Chin Fernandez won the competition. Over 400 designer entered this contest and after more that 16,000 16,000 votes from Brides' readers, Fernandez was revealed as the winner today.

"For this contest we were searching for gowns that play into how American's marry," said Brides editor in chief Millie Martini Bratten.


Born and raised in Jamaica ,attended Immaculate Conception High School in Kingston,currently resides in Florida, Nandi took her inspiration from Botticelli's Birth of Venus, which pictures the goddess of love, Aphrodite, emerging from the sea.  "I just love the way the goddess stands over the sea and I think on your wedding day you should feel like a goddess," said Fernandez who won US$10,000 and her design will be on the cover of the new issue of Bride's Magazine.

Nandi's design was very ordinary and simular to the last 2 years winners. I thought Emily Ericson's dress had a romantic feel to it at the same time flirty and fun.

Girl you are crazy. Nandi's dress was by far the best. No competition.
