Miss Dominica’s Marcia Baptiste was crowned Miss Caribbean World 2010

Miss Dominica’s Marcia Baptiste was crowned Miss Caribbean World 2010 when the show ended in the wee hours of Sunday morning at the Multi-purpose Complex in Road Town.

Baptiste, who is winning her first regional crown since being crowned Miss Carnival Queen (Miss Dominica) title earlier this year, follows in the footsteps of compatriot Marah Walter who won in 2008 – one of three regional titles Walter captured during her reign as Miss Dominica in 2008.

In the very competitive pageant, which included the popular Miss BVI, Josefina Nunez, who was the crowd favourite, she was only able to hold on to the Best Evening Wear and Best Costume.

WINNER – Marcia Baptiste, Miss Dominica

First Runner-up – Dannyele Teneel Leslie, Miss Barbados

Second Runner-up – Jeuel-Marie Green-Thompson, Miss Trinidad & Tobago

Third Runner-up – Meagan Small, Miss USA

Fourth Runner-up – Tamika Nicole Narissa Joseph, Miss USVI

The night was filled with much glitter, excitement, beauty, talent, surprises and a competitive spirit displayed by all the contestants. Each beauty Queen had their own poise, stage presence and contributed to the overall night of glamour. In the end, it was the Clifton Dupigny College graduate, Miss Dominica, Marcia Baptiste, who told VI News Online her long term goal of becoming an attorney, winning the crown and title of Miss Caribbean World 2010.
