Rihanna has said her next album will be less dark and more pop orientated than current record Rated R.
The Barbados born star’s most recent album was recorded and released soon after she was assaulted by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
Ri’s new single Rude Boy is one of her more upbeat recent tracks and the singer told our mates at MTV Korea she wants to continue that sound for her next disc.
She explained: “Rated R- I love the sound of it, in terms of the bass, I really like the bottom, the grime of it.
“But if I were to combine that with more energetic, uptempo pop records, then I think that will be a happy marriage. And that's where we'll probably go next."
Of the rather cool Rude Boy video Rihanna said: “It's really colorful; it's a pop art video. It was really inspired by my Caribbean roots.
“I love reggae music. ['Rude Boy'] is a Jamaican term, so our costumes are 'dancehall-queen-like.”
