BUJU BANTON GIGS NIXED OVER ANTI-GAY SONGS: AEG Live and Live Nation cancel concerts in response to months of protests.

*Two major concert promoters, AEG Live/Goldenvoice and Live Nation, have scrapped all of their scheduled Buju Banton concerts on the heels of major organized protests by gay and lesbian groups.

The Jamaican dancehall star, who was due to perform in major markets across the country in October, has drawn criticism and incited protest due to a long-standing reputation for provoking violent anti-gay sentiment in his music, according to Entertainment Weekly.

In a formal statement, L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center CEO Lorri L. Jean said: "I hope this victory sends a deafeningly loud message to other promoters and concert venues that singers who glorify violence against LGBT people, or any group of people, should never be welcomed. It shouldn't be necessary for us to pressure promoters to do the right thing; people like Banton should never have been booked in the first place."

It is time the Gay faternity forgive and move on. Buju Banton lastest Album Reggae Got Soul is one that is seeking redemption why can't they see this.I am sure that many of their members will be going to watch the shows in other state. What about even coming to Jamaica to our shows. It is time to stop the hypocrisy. I would like to introduce a wonderful Jamaican Proverbs site with you and your readers http://wisejamaican.com.
