NEW YORK, NY May 2009 - Songbird Jovi Rockwell is headed to the music festival route come this summer, and she's joining some of the very top names in music along the way. Rockwell will be a featured performer on Reggae Summerfest, a reggae meets hip-hop music festival in Washington, D.C. on August 30, 2009.
Rockwell will be sharing the Summerfest stage with Keri Hilson, Busta Rhymes and Serani, just to give a taste of the exciting line-up. Rockwell is one of the elite group of Caribbean entertainers who have scored a major recording deal, signing with Epic Records last March.
With the finishing touches on her debut album, Rockwell is now on a path that has included collaborations with the likes of Akon and productions with the likes of Ne-Yo. She is known for two singles that have caused a buzz over the past two years - first the punk rock "Rizzla," and recently the pop hit "Tonight," which was leaked on radio in Jamaica and has since been enjoying airplay in Rockwell's homeland.
The track also brought her attention from the mainstream press, including Vibe and Latina magazines. Rockwell has already interviewed with Vibe and will be featured shortly on Vibe.com.
