Gregory Isaacs leaves for NA tour May 26

Singer, Gregory Isaacs, will leave Jamaica on May 26 to start the Gregory Isaacs: Brand New Me North American tour in support of the CD of the same name.


Part one of the tour kicks off in New Haven, Connecticut at Toads Place and will cover the east coast through the Midwest ending June 22 at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in Northern California.

Gregory and his 12-man entourage will take a break after June 22 then hit the road again August 1 to start the second leg of the tour which kicks off in Miami, Florida. From there, it wends its way through upstate Florida, North and South Carolina up to New York City then swings over to the west coast where on August 9 there will be a special performance at the world famous Hollywood Bowl in California. Also scheduled for this exciting event are Toots & the Maytals and Michael Rose.

The Cool Ruler, as Gregory is called, will be accompanied by the award-winning Live Wyya, which has been his backing band on all his international tours in the last four years. Live Wyya has garnered a steady following of fans and will be promoting their latest single, Yes We Can, done in recognition of the first African American president Barack Obama. Live Wyya band will do a 45-minutes set prior to providing musical backing for the Cool Ruler.

The CD, Brand New Me, is distributed by Tads Records both locally and overseas
