Morgan Heritage - (VP Records):Mission in Progress

After the Marleys, these five Morgan siblings rank as reggae royalty, The Jacksons of Jamaica if you will, and they've done a lot to keep modern roots reggae, sweet vocal harmonies and conscious lyrics alive in a genre of music increasingly polluted by the ostentatious bling that also characterizes much of hip-hop. So a new Morgan Heritage release is something to get excited about. Except this time out, it's the same old, same old: generic modern-roots reggae without any of the hooks that kept us coming back for more in the past.
