Dancehall artiste Sean Paul will be lending a helping hand to Shaggy's Make A Difference campaign.
Sean Paul said he was in discussion with the management of the Bustamante Hospital for Children recently to determine the type of equipment that is needed.
The hospital needs many vital machines, so Sean Paul said he is not sure what he will be donating and in what quantity. Nonetheless, he is happy to be aiding the project.
"It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time. When the opportunity (to work with Shaggy on the project) presented itself, I jumped on the bandwagon," Sean Paul told The Gleaner.
Other institutions
But this is not the first time that he has been involved with the hospital. He said he was introduced to patients there by his agent, Jerome Hamilton, and presented gifts to them alongside Shaggy several years ago.
Sean Paul has also done other charity work. He has worked with the Sir Golding Rehabilitation Centre (Mona Rehabilitation Centre), the National Children's Home, the National Chest Hospital and Food for the Poor.
"This (charity) is something that I am getting more into. Each one helps one. Each day is a next footstep towards positivity," Sean Paul said.
In performance
Although he is busy working on his next album, Sean Paul will take a break to perform at the Shaggy and Friends concert on January 3. On that show, he said the audience will be treated to some of his many hit songs.
In addition to doing charity work, Sean Paul is also experiencing more success inter-nationally with the remix of Estelle's Come Over. The song is at number 56 on the Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
"It's out there. Everywhere I go, I hear it. A lot of people love the song. I am glad for the opportunity to work with her," Sean Paul told The Gleaner.
