It was a very emotional Orville Hall from Dance Xpressionz who took the stage at Teen Splash on Friday, December 26 with the plea "Jamaica stop it nuh, one more great Jamaican dancer gone," he said, his voice breaking as he spoke about the death of his friend Ice, who was gunned down earlier that day.

Hall used the occasion to pay tribute to the dancer by performing his creation, the Gully Creeper, which was made international by Usain Bolt who celebrated his victorious Olympic run with the dance.
That was the only solemn note of the night as the artistes ensured patrons had a reason to enjoy themselves. dancing and chanting along to their performances. The early segment saw upcoming artistes giving some good accounts of themselves including Omeil, Baby Doll, Xinyu and Lady D a student of the St Mary Technical High School.
Up and coming group Exhale's voices rang out in harmony as they sang Air Supply's Every Woman In The World and Just As I Am.
2000 Gospel Festival winner Noreta Lewis came on stage highly charged and had the crowd in a sing-a-long as she sang a medley of gospel choruses. It was definitely church time as the crowd stomped, danced and shouted praises to God.
Another newcomer, Mystery Man, injected some humour when he performed The Rum Song, he had the crowd in stitches with his stage antics. The comedy continued with another newcomer, DJ Literal, whose lyrics about the entertainers proved to be a hit.
No Doubt Records artiste Nesbeth quickly got the crowd going with Boardhouse, but it was his song Guns Out that earned him the most forwards.
Digicel Rising Star winner Cameal delivered with song such as Yolanda Adam's Still I Rise and Jennifer Hudson Spotlight. When she went into Etta James' At Last, it was laughter time again as MC Reggae Rogers joined her on stage to accept the 'serenade'. His antics proved too much for the crowd and had them laughing their heads off. Following the Hilarious Granny - who incidentally really needs some new material - were Konshens, Blacker and Hitman Wallie who made their impression and left. Bar-bee in her first ever Jamaican solo performance managed to hold her own as she performed her song which is now making its way up the charts, Love You Anyway.
Bugle was followed by D'Angel who gave a good account of herself. Her comments in between performance hinted at a reunion between herself and Beenie Man. the crowd loved it. Richie Spice and Assassin gave blazing performances making way for Beenie Man who could do no wrong for his many fans in the house.
He was like the Pied Piper with the crowd willing to follow wherever he led. When Beenie Man introduced some of his 'young charges' Baby Trish and Kitty Paw on stage, it was obvious that he had passed on his skills to them as they totally bowled over the crowd. Mavado was next and he was in a no-nonsense mood as he told the crowd he was "gearing up for a burial". When the Observer left the venue, the Alliance DJ was still very much in control.
