CD profits to Haiti’s kids charity

France’s First Lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy last Friday donated all the money she has made so far from her latest album, U.S. $330,000, to Haitian children’s charities.

The supermodel-turned singer said she was “pleased that music can be used for this” as she signed over the checks at a ceremony in Paris.

The album Comme si de rien n'etait (Simply), the First Lady’s third album was released in France in July and has since sold 190,000 copies in France and 220,000 overseas.

Bruni, who became a global AIDS ambassador earlier this month said she plans to donate all the proceeds from the album to charity and that she would use her celebrity for more philanthropic causes.
